Promoting sustainability all the way
Environmental issues are of vital importance today. And the packaging industry is a sector with a clear impact with regard to CO2 emissions and the environment. But this also means we can make a big difference. Emballator UK is determined to do just that by focusing on long-term sustainability within everything from prototyping to manufacturing and administration.
Recycle, reuse, rethink
As mentioned, both metal and plastic are highly recyclable. While we can’t take credit for the recycling that industries and consumers do, we can improve our technology, methods and processes to minimise our environmental impact. Our products are carefully designed to improve load/stack capacity and simplify recycling. We also maximise utilisation of raw materials and have come a long way in minimising our energy consumption. We are also among the first to offer cans made from up to 100% recycled plastic. Find out more here.
Minimising material usage
Some improvements result in solving several challenges at once. For instance, minimising material usage by changing punching patterns generates both environmental and financial gains. And making it easy to separate plastic handles from metal cans enables 100% recycling that’s also easy for end-users.
CarbonNeutral-certified: zero net CO2 emissions
A key factor for sustainability is reducing energy consumption in the production chain. For example, we use surplus energy from manufacturing to heat our warehouse. As a result of this and many other measures we became the world’s first producer of tinplate cans to be certified as a CarbonNeutral™ Company, which means we have cut our net CO2 emissions to zero.
